Shareef Islam (aka Azteknique and TekMaschine) was born in the Bronx NY and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He has worked with established artists including AZ, Big Daddy Kane, SuperStar of the ICONZ, The Bush Babees, Busta Rhymes, Rampage, Q-Tip and De La Soul, as well as boxing champion Zab “Super Judah, Lin Que (ISIS of X- Clan), Mos Def, Onyx and Jay – Z.

Shareef has remixed songs for D’Angelo, TLC, Brandy, Lil Sammy, Missy Elliot, Onyx and Raphael Saadiq. He was also assistant engineer for Flip Mode Squad and Busta Rhymes.

In addition, Shareef has composed and placed music for numerous reality TV shows, including Clean House, Kimora Lee Simmons, VH1 Best Week documentaries, Mickey Rourke Story, A&E, The VH1 Bobby Brown Story, and Sony/Fox’s Brothers, which he was the composer for the show, starring Super Bowl Champion and co-star of ABC’s ”Live with Kelly & Michael”, Michael Strahan, C.C.H. Pounder, Carl (Apollo Creed) Weathers and Darryl “Chill” Mitchell.

Along with drum programming and audio engineering (Mixing, Recording, Editing), he plays the keyboards and bass guitar, and is the host and co-creator of hit internet web series “Reclaiming The Mix with Maschine” and “The Beat Bang Theory “
